Some individuals may naturally have larger nipples and areolas, or breastfeeding may lead to changes such as elongation or enlargement of the nipples, causing inconvenience in daily life and potentially affecting confidence.

For Asian women, a normal areola is typically around 3-5 centimeters in diameter. The golden ratio between the areola and the nipple is illustrated in the diagram, with the nipple diameter being one-third of the areola.

There are two main methods for reducing the areola size: (1) Areolar outer edge incision and (2) Peri-nipple inner incision. If the areola is too large, the areolar outer edge incision can remove more tissue, but it may result in a faint scar around the areola after surgery. Proper scar care can effectively minimize its appearance. The peri-nipple inner incision has a more limited range of tissue removal and is more suitable for individuals with mild conditions.

The butterfly excision method is suitable for clients with wide nipples but do not require significant nipple shortening.

Those diagnosed with cancer or precancerous conditions without proper treatment.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Individuals with severe anemia or impaired blood clotting mechanisms.
